More recently, there has been evidence of topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors decreasing edema in patients with macular swelling related to retinitis pigmentosa. It will be interesting to see if the same case is true with other conditions man- ifesting with retinal edema, such as neovascular age-related macular degeneration and uveitis." Dr. Shah was not involved in this study.
